By taking over Keytrade Bank's complete social media strategy, Socialsky transformed two modest accounts into financial education platforms for 18-35 year-olds: over 10.6 million views, 2.58 million Instagram reach, and benchmarks consistently exceeded in 6 months, with content that talks about finance without ever sounding like a bank.

Context

Keytrade Bank is Belgium's first 100% digital bank. A pioneer in its sector, it stands out for its competitive rates, free accounts and unique cashback program. In May 2025, Socialsky wins a competitive pitch and takes over the complete social media strategy on Instagram and TikTok, with a clear mission: establish Keytrade as the digital financial reference for 18-35 year-olds, breaking the codes of traditional banking.

Challenge

In the banking and financial sector, social networks are hostile terrain. Young Belgian audiences immediately flee overly institutional content, overly polished visuals and overly product-focused messaging. The regulatory context (transparency, risk disclaimers, GDPR) leaves little room for creative improvisation. The challenges were multiple:

  • Starting from a limited community: 1,190 followers on Instagram, 2,272 on TikTok, no strong editorial line, no signature format.
  • Reposition Keytrade Bank not as a technical neobank, but as a true "financial coach" for the digital generation.
  • Make finance accessible, engaging and entertaining, without losing credibility or rigor.
  • Build a bilingual FR/NL community in a fragmented Belgian market, with content adapted to each audience and platform.

Solution

Socialsky built Keytrade Bank's social media strategy around a central principle: finance is not boring. It's just that it's never been told well.

  • Creative Lab in launch phase: parallel testing of several creative angles to identify high-performing formats before scaling. This process made it possible to define realistic benchmarks.
  • Signature format "Finance & Behaviour Micro-Interviews": street micro-interviews asking intriguing questions about finance or taboos around money and consumption habits. The highest-performing concept across both platforms and both languages.
  • Three complementary pillars: Financial Education (democratize finance), Online Bank (Keytrade products and values without corporate jargon) and Keytrade Bank & YOU (community around financial habits and life projects).
  • Optimized boost strategy: selective amplification of best organic content after 48-72 hours of community validation.

Results

In 6 months (May to October 2025), Keytrade Bank established itself as a credible and distinctive presence in the Belgian financial sector. Visibility: 10.6 million views on TikTok and Instagram. 2.58 million Instagram reach. 1.15 million reach in a single month on Instagram in October 2025, 4x the target benchmark. Content performance: average of 133K views per TikTok post, against a benchmark of 75K. 166 pieces of content produced and published (58 TikToks + 108 Instagram posts). Growth: +3,544 new followers across both platforms. Engagement: 33K total interactions (likes, comments, shares, saves).
